Discussion Post: Cultural Diversity
Review the reasons for segregating Mexican-origin children, but also take time to review the arguments againt it. Take note of the names, George I. Sanchez and Arthur Company.
a) In the Yosso and solorzano article, review the conditions that drive many of our students off the educational pipeline, like Unequal K-12 Conditions and Failure of the Community College Transfer Function. Add to that, their mention of how Mexican-origin students persist in getting through the system.
b) Second pargraph, review the pedagogy of Critical Bilingual-Bicultural educators. Then, on the third paragraph, review how author Lourdes Diaz-Soto, implements that pedagogy.
c) Review the section titled, Isolation in Schools and class, in Rowan's article.
The response must include a reference list. Using one-inch margins, double-space, Times New Roman 12 pnt font and APA style of writing and citations.
