Critically evaluate the situation of a contemporary refugee group. Select a specific refugee group from the five listed below. Each of these groups have experienced significant civil conflict trauma.
-Afghan refugees in Pakistan and/or Iran;
-Sudanese refugees in Chad;
-Syrian refugees in Jordan;
-Burmese refugees in Thailand; or
-Sri Lankan Tamil refugees in India.
1. Provide a socio-cultural and political background to the conflict and to the refugee population under review.
2. Outline and discuss the possible psychosocial and mental effects on the refugee communities.
