Overview of a specific aspect of care

This has been changed to a 5 Minute brief overview of a specific aspect of care as discussed in class. (Since Wednesday courses before Thanksgiving have been included in the recess, we have limited time for presentations). Each student will select a particular topic (eg, physician assisted suicide, tube feeding with dementia patients, patient-physician communication about a specific issue, advance directives discussions, etc) discussed in class and (1) present an introduction to the topic, (2) briefly review the current literature (what we know and gaps in knowledge), (3) discuss what we don't know (4) provide recommendation for innovative ways we can improve care in that area/topic. Students should end with a discussion of potential barriers and facilitators to applying these concepts within a practice setting. I would recommend that students narrow their focus as much as possible given the short period of time to present. For example, Pacemakers with heart failure patients, feeding tubes with dementia patients, POLST forms for nursing facility patients, etc). You should have about 5 slides in total. Please provide references on you last slide
