the purpose of this paper is to apply

The purpose of this paper is to apply principles, frameworks, and methods covered in this course to the analysis of a small project that includes a decision regarding perations/supply chain strategy, a process improvement, project scheduling, or an investment in technology (broadly defined). You have plenty of flexibility regarding your topic. I suggest you choose one that will create the most value-added for you and your job.

Your analysis should have enough detail to provide the desired degree of accuracy required by a project manager for your company. However, given the time and presentation constraints (page limit), the scope of the project should be appropriately limited. Use and reference principles, frameworks, and methods covered in this course and/or readings where appropriate. Appropriate use and a close integration of principles, frameworks, or methods covered in this course is a significant factor in the grading of the Final Paper.

Other things to note:

Rarely can any general framework or method simply be super-imposed on a problem. Logically develop the connection of the project to the framework or method. Use the framework or method as a starting point for analysis, and logically incorporate the details of the real project. Be careful to not spend substantial space summarizing the company’s background unless it is relevant to your analysis.

The Final Paper should include the following:

1) Introduction of the project – Why is this important ?

2) Description of the investigation/analysis

3) Presentation of results

4) Recommendation and discussion
