Mission of the department of homeland security

Assignment:

1). The creation of the Department of Homeland Security has affected the ability for administrator's to reach their goals due to lack of technology and limited resources.

2.) There are a lot of resources available to fight both terrorist and traditional criminals but, less funding is allocated for traditional criminals.

3). The burden to pay for investigating, apprehending, prosecuting, convicting, sentencing and incarcerating terrorist should be placed on the government because the government is responsible for making sure that the citizens in this country are protected against terrorist attacks.

4). Osama Bin Laden should have been taken alive to face America as well as its courts for the criminal acts that he had coerced others into committing against the citizens of America on 9/11.

5). The due process question in light of the creation of the Department of Homeland Security relates to the fifth and fourteenth amendments of the U. S. Constitution as well as in various state constitutions, which says that no person shall be "deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law (First Principles).

6). Due process should matter in the war against terrorism because of the fifth and fourteenth amendment of the U. S. Constitution and America should not go against the rules that the government has set in place for that is a violation of the law.

According to Stojkovic, Kalinich, and Klofas (2015), the mission of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is to protect the American people in their homeland. Due to less funding being allocated to local criminal justice organization it is more difficult for administrators to meet their goals to prevent and fight crimes within their jurisdictions. Sheriff's across the country have been discussing their concerns about having limited funds to train, purchase equipment and hire more needed police officers for their organizations (Police Department, 2018). Although there are a lot of resources available to fight terrorist and traditional criminals the majority of funding is being allocated towards Homeland Security.

One would have to understand that the history of policing goes back to working with the basic of using limited resources to work on the further development of community policing. The community is needed to assist in crime prevention. The need to protect America's borders and secure the government became a priority as of 911 and the central activity of the DHS requires dozens of directorates and components that involve thousands of personnel to perform its operations (2015). Osama Bin Laden should have been taken alive to face the consequences of terrorism against the American people. He is entitled to due process because it is a law embedded within the U. S Constitution of America and it should not be violated no matter the crime. Matthew 12:25 (NKJV) says, "But Jesus knew their thought and said to them: "Every Kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." Citizens of America should continue to obey its government despite the dilemmas that it would encounter as it moves forward.
