When you stated in your response that "In the early days of electronic commerce, many companies undertook electronic commerce projects without evaluating their costs and benefits in detail because they feared being left out of the Internet boom" you were absolutely correct. The fear of being left behind by your competition is a huge motivation for many companies. This motivation can be a negative factor for many companies because it indicates that action might be taken without consideration for any negative aspects.

So, while this primarily is attributable to first wave Internet actions, do you think it still happens today with the second wave? Please explain why or why not when you respond.
