Topic: The impact of inequality and social mobility among the youths

For many years, it has been determined that low social mobility along with high inequality within the society can greatly influence the behavior of the disadvantaged youths thus diminishing their changes to succeed in future. For example, the youths who are highly subjected to higher inequality tend to drop out of schools and this subjects them to worse economic situation in future.

For my topic, the impact of inequality and social mobility among the youths, examines how the young generation has become affected by the high level of inequality and how this worsen their social mobility. This is an important topic. According to an article by Corak, equality of opportunity is a value that many hold dear (Corak, 2016). This is because it is through such an opportunity that the young generation can be able to showcase their talent and become motivated to improve their social status within the society. Unfortunately, in many countries the young generation are not provided with the needed opportunity which can make them to grow (Corak, 2016). This weakens their social mobility affecting their chance to grow

Youths with low social mobility within the society are likely not to be successful in future (Corak, 2016). For example, a youth whose mother was not able to receive education will not likely be educated. This is because his or her social mobility within the society is low.

Unfortunately, such youths are subjected to discrimination and inequality thus worsening their situation within the society. For this reason, this generation of youths should be provided with the necessary opportunities to promote their chances within the society.
