What is the likely impact of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) on healthcare access, cost, and quality?
Questions to be addressed in your research presentation are:
1. Who is newly covered and how is this achieved?
2. What are exchanges and how are different States approaching them?
3. What does the Medicaid program have to do with the ACA? How will health insurance premiums be affected?
4. What variables are in play in the political debate over the impact of the ACA on cost, access, and quality of care?
5. What are some of the key implementation challenges facing state and national policy makers?
6. On balance, is the ACA a good or bad law? Provide a clear, fact-based, non-emotinal justification for your conclusion.
The presentation will be posted online using appropriate web-based tool.
Grading will be based on the following considerations and aligned with the below 100 point rubbric.
1. Presentation is between 15 to 20 slides and uses proper grammar and spelling appreciate to a graduate student level of performance.
2. The presentation includes at least five references from appropriate sources and cited in APA style.
3. Presentation offers a clear and correct understanding of the basic element of the ACA.
4. The presentation clearly address the impact of the ACA on the three major areas of access, cost, quality, in a logical and coherent fashion.
5. The presentation demonstrates an understanding of the some of the challenges facing state and national government in the implementation of the Law.
