Integrated Logistics Management are functions and/or activities of logistical work, which are interrelated to form an integrated logistics management process. ("Activities in the Logistical Channel" in your text). The capstone project is a research paper and in-class presentation on a topic of your choice that relates to the course or industry. The capstone will be broken down into parts to help guide you through the completion process and allow for period checkups and feedback along the way.

Capstone Project Assignment: You will select a product or service with approval from your instructor. You will take the selected product/service and complete the following:

  • Identify the market/customer for the product/service.
  • Discuss the strategy for each function of the integrated logistics system and how that strategy is being used.
  • Consider alternative logistics or expanded supply chain partners to enhance cost containment and green initiatives.

Capstone Project Deliverables: The purpose of the project is to apply your understanding of logistics concepts that you will learn in this class. You will develop a product logistics plan. To complete the assignment, you do the following:

Proposal (Topic Approval): Submit a proposal containing a brief description of the product (good/service) and the scope of your plan. You will be required to formally turn in your topic via Blackboard. Ideally you will have discussed the topic via email or face to face with your instructor ahead of formally submitting your topic.

Project Outline: Several weeks after finalizing your topic.
