How you conduct the research using a pre-experiment design

Assignment: Celebration of Knowledge

Objective: in this week's Celebration of Knowledge, you will develop a pre-experiment, quasi-experiment, and a true experiment.

Directions: to complete this Celebration of Knowledge, develop a pre-experiment, quasi-experiment, AND a true experiment to test the hypothesis provided below. Read the description and the hypothesis carefully, then use information from the text as well as information from this week's lecture to design your experiment.Remember, the hypothesis below could be tested using a variety of research designs. Your job is to develop a design for the hypothesis using each of the following: pre-experiment, quasi-experiment, true experiment.

Study & Hypothesis

For years, I've had the best dog training program in town-proudly called Doggy Delight. Recently, a new training agency moved into town (Pooch Pals). I'd like to be able to advertise that my program works better than theirs, based on an empirical study. Of course, I expect that my program will produce better behaved puppies than theirs. Pooch Pals has agreed to the comparison, following whatever procedures you design. Each of us will provide a list of persons who have inquired about puppy training (about 300) and we will each provide our trainers to provide the actual classes either at our facilities or ones you provide, if you choose to do it that way. If you would like to-the performance of each trained animal will be assessed by the National Kennel Association.

H: Puppies trained by Doggy Delight are more well-behaved than puppies trained by Pooch Pals.

1. Provide a detailed description of how you would conduct this research using a pre-experiment design. Provide details of participant selection, assignment, treatment and control groups, controls to provide internal validity, and how the decisions might influence external validity. Consider initial and ongoing equivalence and-if applicable-make sure to explain how you will attain both. Details and specifics are the goal -- use of correct terminology andprocedural names will be rewarded.

2. Provide a detailed description of how you would conduct this research using a quasi-experiment. Provide details of participant selection, assignment, treatment and control groups, controls to provide internal validity, and how the decisions might influence external validity. Consider initial and ongoing equivalence and-if applicable-make sure to explain how you will attain both. Details and specifics are the goal -- use of correct terminology and procedural names will be rewarded.

3. Provide a detailed description of how you would conduct this research using a true experiment.

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
