Assignment:
In the thematic verse of Acts, Jesus promises his disciples that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them and they will witness to him to the ends of the earth. Throughout Acts Luke gives various examples of how the Spirit empowers the witness of the first Christians. In approximately 500 words address the following matters:
1. Discuss some of the distinctive ways in which the Spirit operates through Christians as described in Acts (give at least five distinct examples).
2. Discuss how the power of the Holy Spirit in Acts is often contrasted with the power of magic and of magicians that Christian leaders encounter as they evangelize throughout the Roman empire.
