a. Select Groton, CT as your destination
b. Examine the coastline around the New London/Groton Airport and also around the University of Connecticut/Avery Point campus.
c. During Tropical Storm Sandy (also known as Superstorm Sandy) in 2012, there was extensive damage to the west shoreline of the Avery Point campus. The runway(s) of the New London/Groton Airport, on the other hand, experienced much less damage.
Based on what you have observed in the Wetlands Mapper, please give a brief explanation (75-100 words) for why you think there may have been less damage to the Airport runway(s) and its immediate vicinity than to the Avery Point campus.
