For this exercise, list the rituals, ceremonies, or cultural practices that Dr. Faustus relies on. Choose one item from your list and write a page or two comparing the play's use of it to an earlier text's presentation of a similar cultural practice. For example, you could compare feasting in Beowulf to feasting in Dr. Faustus. List the relevant passages and explain how they are similar or different.
