A channel-marker buoy consists of an 8-ft hollow steel cylinder 12 in. in diameter weighing 180 lb and anchored to the bottom with a cable as shown. If h = 2 ft at high tide, calculate the tension T in the cable. Also find the value of h when the cable goes slack as the tide drops. The specific weight of sea water is 64 lb /ft3. Assume the buoy is weighted at its base so that it remains vertical.
