Discussion - Virtual Teaming/Collaboration
The use of technological devices and platforms to communicate personally and professionally are increasing at a faster rate than ever. Society is becoming more comfortable and reliant on communicating in this manner.
There will always be place and need for face to face communication but with so many careers offering work from home options and virtual offices what advantages and disadvantages do you think we will or are encountering to be more efficient?
How do you see this concept evolving to allow teams to be more efficient to work on projects and in turn increase their efficacy?
Feel free to also discuss any personal experiences you may have had being a member of virtual team or how you envision a virtual team functioning. What is the role of the team? How were members chosen? Are there specific technological skills necessary to participate? How does the team communicate and share information?
