Question: There will be one paper (APA style, Times New Roman, 12pt, I" margins, double spaced). Please think about your topic early and feel free to contact me with questions. The topic you choose must be sent by email to me for approval before the start of class by 5:30 pm on March 0. The paper should be 6-8 pages long (plus cover page and references). While you are free to use information from the assigned textbook and articles, you also must use at least two outside sources from academic resources such as scientific journals or published books. Papers handed in late will be deducted five points for each day they are late.
Please choose from the following two paper options:
A. Choose a topic within the scope of abnormal psychology. It can be a topic we did not get to cover or something you found particularly interesting.
B. Evaluate the portrayal of a mental illness in a popular film. Your paper must include the following:
1) a brief description of the character with the disorder,
2) a description of the formal diagnosis, including the social, biological, and psychological effects of the disorder,
3) description of the character's symptoms in the film, and
4) description of the character's potential for treatment
