Essay Evaluation Guidelines
Course: Managing complex organization
Each part of the essay should be a minimum of 250-300 words. Together, the essays should be 500-600 words. It is okay if they are longer.
1. Page setup: For all essays, set margins (top, bottom,right, left) at 1 inch. Use a 12-point font. Number pages. Double space.
The essay is to be written about two people that you have worked with in the past, that is, someone you have work with on a regular basis-a teammate, co-worker or peer.
Part 1 of the essay is to be written about the best co-worker that you have ever had. Think about all the co-workers you have ever had, including current ones if employed. Select the best one from your perspective. Write a descriptive essay about that person. Be specific in describing why you selected this person as your best co-worker. Include the following in your description:
- Describe how you related to and interacted with this person.
- Describe what made you comfortable and uncomfortable in interactions with this individual.
- Was this person approachable? Why? Why not?
- Did this person make you feel at ease or ill at ease in direct interactions?
Part 2 of the essay is to be written about the worst co-worker you have ever had. Think about all the co-workers you have ever had, including current ones if employed. Select the worst one from your perspective. Write a descriptive essay about that person. Be specific in describing why you selected this person as your worst co-worker. Include the following in your description:
- Describe how you related to and interacted with this person.
- Describe what made you comfortable and uncomfortable in interactions with this individual.
- Was this person approachable? Why? Why not?
- Did this person make you feel at ease or ill at ease in direct interactions?
