Assignment: Article Critiques
Article: "A Historical Mission in the Accountability Era: A Public HBCU and State Performance Funding" by Tiffany Jones.
Students are required to complete an article critique on "HBCU and State Performance Funding (3 to 5 pages), you will critically evaluate the assigned articles determined by me using the following format:
I. Introduction
i. The author's name(s) and the title of the article
ii. The author's main point
iii. A thesis statement that previews your analysis
II. Summary
i. The main points of the article
ii. The arguments presented in the article
iii. The findings of the article
III. Critique
i. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article that you noted while critically reading the article.
ii. State your informed opinions about the clarity, relevancy, and accuracy of the article, using specific examples from the article to support your statements.
IV. Conclusion
i. Summarize the key points in the article, as well the key points from your own analysis.
ii. Close with a comment about the significance of the research or a statement of future research needed in the field
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
i) The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
ii) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
iii) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
