Discussion: Practice Within The Larger Ecological Environment, And Contrast It With A Narrower Ameliorative Focus

The discussion topic this week focuses on the application of community psychology tools at an ecological or systems level. Consider and respond to the following. Be sure to draw from and cite required readings as well as your own personal and professional experiences and other sources of knowledge.
1. Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of amelioration through individual interventions vs. transformation through ecological interventions. Be sure to address the importance of the reciprocal relationship between individual and ecology.
2. Reflect on your perspective (theoretical model) regarding psychological interventions. To what extent is your perspective consistent with holistic transformative ecological interventions? How has your thinking changed through the course of this term? What challenges do you anticipate in adhering to a holistic transformative model?
