Assignment Instructions
Task
Discuss at least two stories to explain how you've arrived at your current understanding (that is, your thesis) of how readers contribute to meaning in literature.
Situation
Your actual and intended readers will be your English 111 classmates and instructor. You will need to write a paper that meets expectations for an academic essay.
Expectations
All four of your papers for this class should be
• formatted according to Modern Language Association (MLA) style guidelines (see Purdue University Online Writing Lab Sample MLA Paper (Links to an external site.))
• composed of at least 1000 words, not counting the Works Cited page
• submitted as word-processed documents
• submitted for peer review before midnight on the working draft due date
• revised in response to feedback, proofread carefully to remove all errors, and resubmitted for a grade before midnight on the synthesis draft due date
• accompanied by a reflective commentary (type this after the works cited page), in which you discuss what you believe to be the strengths of your paper and what you would work on improving if you had more time.
