Socrates, the Greek philosopher, believed that "knowing thyself" is the basis of wisdom and the basis of leadership. So it stands to reason that "to be an effective manager you need to understand yourself; your values and the motives that drive your behaviour, your strengths and limitations." (Cole, 2012, pg. 166).
1. Explain why you need to understand yourself before you can understand others. Using the Johari Window, describe some of the ways that you can understand yourself and what changes you can make in order to work more effectively with others.
2. Describe the five ways to manage conflict. Explain your personality type (Myers-Briggs Typology) and then describe what would be the most likely way for you to manage conflict.
