• Observe a child between the ages of birth and six years old

• Describe the characteristics of the child including physical, language, cognitive and social.
• Briefly describe the setting.
• Describe the interaction between the child and other children, adults and /or materials in the environment.
• What does this observation tell you about the child's development in different areas? Do you consider it appropriate for the child's age? Why or why not?
