Assignment:
Write a 1500 word essay addressing each of the following points/questions. Be sure to completely answer all the questions for each bullet point. There should be one section for each bullet below. Separate each section in your paper with a clear heading that allows your professor to know which bullet you are addressing in that section of your paper. Support your ideas with at least three (3) citations in your essay. Be sure to reference the citations using the APA writing style for the essay. 1. Explain basic radio wave theory including radio waves and frequencies. What are some problems of the radio technology used in law enforcement and outline the effects these problems can create within a department.
2. Describe how the cell phone is an investigative instrument capable of augmenting tools used to assist physical surveillance?
3. If you were the chief executive of a law enforcement agency who had to make a decision concerning the development of a new communications system, how would you begin that process? Which system might you choose and why? Would the size of the agency affect your decision?
4. Mobile command posts and other command and control technology help monitor personnel. Briefly summarize the application of this technology.
