Describe an e-business you might like to start

Describe an e-business you might like to start.

Have some fun with this process. For instance, if you like dogs, you might decide to sell a downloadable information product about adopting a dog. Just please make sure your business does not include criminal or pornographic activity (your instructor is squeamish). Do not use health care or other services requiring licenses unless you hold the appropriate license yourself.

Answer the following four questions:

(Question 1) Why should your business should be an e-business rather than brick and mortar? Your reasons should be related to the needs and wants of the market, not to ease of setting yourself up in business. "It's cheaper on the Internet" or, "I can reach more people" are not good reasons to start an e-business.

(Question 2) Describe your target market. Remember, you can't be everything to everybody. You have a much better chance of success and will be more successful if you segment the total market and concentrate on that part of the market in which you have the greatest chances of success. In Internet marketing, we talk about finding a niche. The narrower your niche, and the more carefully you can describe it, the more likely your success.

(Question 3) How will visitors find you on the Internet? If they use search engines, what keywords will they be likely to use?

(Question 4) Name 2-3 competitors and explaln why your offer is better than theirs.
