Assignment: BUSINESS LAW
Instruction
I) Pick one of the three case fact patterns I have posted entitled Extra Credit Case
II) Figure out what rule of law applies to this fact pattern
III) Write a 2-4-page paper (double spaced) arguing each side of the case i.e. the Plaintiff and Defendant (Respondent). Use Format outlined below
IV) Your argument must be a legal argument weaving the facts into the rule of law.
V) Format:
a. Facts - Background information
b. Issue - Define the legal issue in the case fact
c. Rule - Define the rule of law that applies to this case facts
d. Argument - Use the facts of the case supported by law to tell the judge why he/she should rule in favor of the plaintiff and then argue the other side.
e. Don't forget to have a paragraph for argument on the Plaintiff's side and a second paragrapharguing for the Defendant (Respondent) side. Separate the paragraphs
f. Conclusion - give me a very brief (1-2 sentences) statement of who you think should win and why.
VI) Don't forget to argue (analysis the case) for both the Plaintiff and Defendant (Respondent)
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
