Conduct a survey

Assignment:

Introduction

As before, this discussion is a time to share your research with the rest of the class. Asking a question and getting an answer may seem like an easy way to collect data for your research project, but as you may have realized in research, things are never that simple. To help you obtain some feedback about the questions you are considering for your research you will post your survey for the class to take.

Initial Post Instructions

For this discussion question, you will pilot your survey questions for your research project. I want you to create at least ten questions that you will use for your survey. These questions should NOT be demographic information but be related to your research question. You can post these as an attachment in a word document or simply cut and paste them into Moodle. Please include any scales you might use.

Please Note: If you are not doing a survey, post about what your plans are for your research project. Also, if you choose not to conduct a survey please contact your instructor to approve your method.

Secondary Post Instructions

When you reply to your fellow students make sure you give them feedback about the quality of the questions. Are there any issues with how they are phrased such as leading questions, double-barreled or vague? Provide suggestions if there is any room for improvement.

Writing Requirements

  • In addition to one initial post, respond to at least two peers.
  • Initial Post Length: minimum of 250 words
  • Secondary Post Length: minimum of 200 words per post
  • Using APA format, incorporate appropriate in-text citation(s) referring to the academic concept with corresponding references page for the initial post.

Assessment

Meeting the minimum number of postings does not guarantee an A; you must present an in-depth discussion of high quality, integrate sources to support your assertions, and refer to peers' comments in your secondary posts to build on concepts.

Course Learning Outcome(s):

1.. Understand and apply the scientific method to answering research questions.

2. Design, conduct, analyze, synthesize, prepare a well written APA style research paper and communicate results from a scientifically valid, original empirical research.

3. Develop verbal and written communication skills.
