Air enters a compressor at ambient conditions of 100kPa and 17 °C with a low velocity and exits at 1MPa, 327 °C, and 105 m/s. The compressor is cooled by the ambient air at 15 °C at a rate of 1500 kJ/min. The power input to the compressor is 300 kW. Determine (a) the mass flow rate of air and (b) the rate of entropy generation.
