1. The internet is growing rapidly with an increasing number of regular users. However, among people older than 50, Internet use is still relatively low. To learn more about this issue, a sample of 250 men and women older than 50 who had used the Internet at least once were selected. The number of hours on the Internet during the past month and the number of years of education were recorded.

a. Calculate the mean and median for the number of hours on the Internet and on the number of years of education

b. Calculate the variance and standard deviation for the number of hours on the Internet and on the number of years of education using the procedure in pp.98-100. Construct the table as shown in Table 3.3 in page 99.

c. Calculate the first and the third quartile for the number of hours on the Internet and on the number of years of education using the procedure explained in page 91

d. Draw a box plot for both variables

e. Discuss what you have learned from a-d, using at least 75 words
