Believe in god without having any actual evidence that god

Is it reasonable for someone to believe in God without having any actual evidence that God is real? And if so, what's to stop them from believing all sorts of crazy things without evidence? Is nonevidentialism a rational position? Do you tend to side more with Clifford's evidentialist argument? Or do you agree with James that the issue simply cannot be decided on evidential grounds, and so should be decided on pragmatic grounds instead? Your explanations should have reasons that support them and make use of concrete examples
