Assignment:
Weekly Journal Writing: Journal-style writing that meditates on, clarifies, and analyzes the week's readings, podcasts, and primary source reading assignments. Journals may be informal in style, but must be detailed and thorough, 3-pages (1000 words) minimum.
Please reflect on the emerging "modern" European world of the later 19th century, associated with Women's Rights movements, secularism, and colonialism/imperialism. Are they the hallmarks of modernity? What do you think of Lenin's analysis of Imperialism as a stage of Capitalism, written in the early 20th century? Does it still hold true today? Why or why not?
