Virtual reality (or VR) is a word which applies to computer-simulated environments which can simulate positions in the real world and also in imaginary worlds. Most present virtual reality environments are first and foremost visual experiences, displayed either on the computer screen or via special stereoscopic displays, though some simulations include additional sensory information, like sound through headphone or speakers. Some advanced, haptic systems now comprise tactile information, generally termed as force feedback, in gaming and medical applications.
