Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) enables local host to receive the files from remote host though, does not offer reliability or the security. It utilizes the fundamental packet delivery services which are offered by the UDP.

File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is described as the standard phenomenon offered by the TCP / IP in order to copy the file from one host to the other. It utilizes the services provided by the TCP and thus it is reliable and secure. It makes two connections between the hosts, one for the data transfer and another for the control information.
