Redundancy:

It refers to the error detecting mechanism, in this a small group of bits or extra bits are added at the destination of every unit.

Flow control:

Flow control is defined as a set of procedures that are used to restrict the amount of the data. The sender may send before waiting for the acknowledgment.

There are different categories of flow control:

There are two mechanisms, which have been designed to control the flow of data across the communication links.

a) Stop and wait- send one from at single time.

b) Sliding window- send several frames at single time.

Buffer:

Every receiving device has the block of memory known as the buffer that are reserved for storing the incoming data until they get processed.
