The vena cava is either of two big veins which debouch into the right atrium. The superior vena cava drains all blood which comes from the head, the neck, the superior limbs, and the superior part of the trunk. The inferior vena cava carries blood drained from inferior part of the trunk and the inferior limbs. Venous blood circulates in the vena cava.
