Continuous and discrete time signal
Explain the continuous and discrete time signal?
Expert
Continuous time signal : A signal x (t) is called as continuous if it is defined for all time t. Continuous time signal occurs naturally whenever the physical waveform like acoustics wave or the light wave is transformed into the electrical signal. This is caused through the means of transducer. For example: microphone, photocell.
Discrete time signal : A discrete time signal is described only at the discrete instants of the time. The independent variable has discrete values only that are spaced uniformly. A discrete time signal is often developed from the continuous time signal by sampling it at the uniform rate.
