a) Bench Mark is a surveyor’s mark out on a stone / rock or any other reference point which is used to specify a level in the levelling survey.

b) Reduced Level is the level of the point with respect to the level of permanent feature or the bench mark. It shows that a point on the land is above or below the levelling point.
