You have been asked to create a website for the finance

This assignment will contain two (2) sections: Preplanning Phase and Coding Phase. You must submit both sections as separate files for the completion of this assignment. You are only to demonstrate the specific requirements requested.

You have been asked to create a Website for the finance department of a major company. Employees will be able to utilize the website to calculate their income taxes.

Section 1: Preplanning Design

(MS Word Document or equivalent)

The pre-planning design consists of a document that defines the element specifically requested by the client and indicates where these features will be located on the Website. This is an important component to complete before you start building the application and should be used as a guideline when developing the Website.

Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:

1. Describe your design of the following client requirements:

a. A color scheme that promotes a calm feeling (warm natural colors)

b. A font that is easy to read

c. An "About" page that details how to use the site

d. A Login page that includes a text box for the employee user ID and password.

e. An Income tax calculation page that includes input boxes for First name, Last Name, Annual Pay, Filing Status, and Deductions.

f. A "Contact" element, including a phone number and email address

2. Describe the JavaScript components used in the development.

3. Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:

a. Typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.

b. Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the professor's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.

Section 2: Coding Phase (.zip file containing the screen shot of the project, validation results, and JavaScript code files)

The next step in the process is to take the design you created in the preplanning phase and implement it into a working Website. And understand the logic needed to for the Income tax calculation.

You must submit a .zip file containing the following files for the completion of Section 2 of this assignment.

  • JavaScript code files
  • Validation results
  • One (1) screen shot of the designed site from your Web browser

Create a Website in which you:

1. Create your design from Section 1 that includes the following client requirements:

a. A color scheme that promotes a calm feeling (warm natural colors)

b. A font that is easy to read

c. The Navigator object to create the "About" page that summarizes how to use the site

d. A login page that includes a text box for the employee user ID and password.

e. An Income tax calculation page that includes input boxes for First name, Last Name, Annual Pay, Filing Status, and Deductions.

f. A "Contact" element, including a phone number and email addresses

g. The Windows close () object which properly closes the browser window when a user clicks the "X"

2. Conform to strict Document Type Definition (DTD) standards and verify your design using W3C Markup Validation Services. Save the results and submit with the assignment.

3. Submit one (1) screen shot of the designed site displayed in your Web browser.

4. Write the logic needed to compute the income tax / refund calculation. The goal here is to ensure that you understand what is needed to compute the income tax/refund calculation. Include a sample calculation based on the following inputs:

Annual Pay: $50,000

Filing Status: Head of house hold

Deductions: $1225

Standard deductions: see tables in the Appendix (located in Week 6 of your Blackboard course)
