Topic: Creekside/River Community Hospital Case Study
You are to draft a letter that will be sent to the stakeholders at your hospital: employees, physicians, board members, etc. This letter should outline a long-term plan to slow spending and/or cut costs at Creekside. Provide background as to why this is necessary--educate the reader as to why change is needed sooner rather than later. Choose 3 to 5 initiatives that you particularly like, (calling upon what you know about the organization based on your extensive analysis last week), in pursuit of this cost reduction goal and explain them to the reader, justifying their selection and the desired benefits of each.
So you're going to demonstrate your knowledge of ACA, your knowledge of Creekside's financials, and put these together to come up with ideas for cutting costs. I would imagine it will take at least 5 pages, double-spaced (excluding the title and reference pages), to do justice to a communication such as this. Cite resources that help make your case or add credibility to your plan. Call upon what you have learned from this class and others--try to feel the responsibility, the sense of urgency, and the commitment to not be a victim to the "bubble bursting".
