Case Study on Human Resource Issue of a UAE Organization

You are required to submit a case study on a local company, Public or private. The company has to be an established renowned name. If you are employed or were previously employed at a company, you are encouraged to produce a case study on the same company (Please mention if you were employed at the same company)

Required topics in the case study:

The case study should cover four main areas

  • Introduction and Overview of the company
  • Human Resource Issue/Problem the company has been facing, or has faced in the past
  • Solutions implemented to rectify the Issue/problem
  • Your personal recommendations

Introduction and Overview of the company:

This part should not cover more than 25% of your case study

It should cover areas like

-how long the company has been operational

-what exactly does it do? Which sector does it belong to?

-Number of employees, Departments of the company

-A little history on how the company was established (optional)

Human Resource Issues faced by the company:

This area should cover up to 50% of your case study

It should cover areas like

-how big is the HR department of the company

-What problems are common with them?

-Which problem are you addressing?

-Detail of the problem

Please note that the problem that you address should be among the ones in our course syllabus. Anything out of the course syllabus would not be accepted. However, if you feel your problem area is close, but not exactly the ones in the syllabus, then I recommend discussing it with me before starting off with your case study.

Solutions implemented to rectify the problem:

This area should cover 15% of your case study

It should cover areas like

-What were the possible solutions to the problem area?

-How the HR chose the one which was finally implemented?

-Has the problem completely diminished or does it still exist?

Your Personal Recommendations:

This area should be 10% of your case study. I believe you all need to work the hardest on this since this part of the case study will show me how much hard work each one of you has invested in establishing this case study.

This includes 3 or 4 bullet points on what you recommend for the company. This might include present problem's better solution or a recommendation for future.

Minimum length of the Case Study:

The minimum length of the case study is 4 A-4 size pages. The maximum font size allowed is 12. There should be no line spacing and do not leave too many blank lines in between paragraphs or headings.

You are required to submit a soft copy of your case study. Each case study should be submitted through your portal. Hard copies or hand written projects won't be accepted.
