Written reflections on music

Listening Journal: In order to assess your understanding of the materials, which we will call journal entries. These journal entries will be written reflections on music that you have listened to from each of the 4 major musical time periods outlined in the textbook. Simply listen to a piece of music from the specified time period and then write a reflection about what you heard. Perhaps you could use some of the terminology in the text book or describe what instruments you heard or how the piece stirred your imagination. Feel free to use the music on the CD’s that came with your textbook, or you could find your own listening examples on the internet or in the library. If you choose to find your own listening example, make sure the piece you are writing about is from the appropriate time period. At the beginning of each journal entry, please give your name, the title of the piece and the name of the composer
