Principles of Sociology - Autobiography
Write a 10-page autobiography chronicling your life experiences, upbringing, socialization, culture, ethnic, family background, or anything you believe is relevant and significant, and how these have impacted and influenced the person you are and who you will become in the future.
You may conduct online research into your family's history or you may ask family members. Most of the paper will be as explanation of what you personally remember. You will not need to include in-text citations or a words cited page in your paper.
Each week, chapter topics will cover elements of social life that should be included in your autobiography, such as birth order in the family (oldest, middle, or youngest child), how the culture, values, beliefs, and behaviors of your family members have influenced you and how you see the world around you.
Writing assignments can be a source of stress for some and for others, it can be a way to put thoughts in order or come to terms with certain life experiences. Do not include any aspect of your life that you do not feel comfortable writing about. Your story should flow in a logical manner; stay on topic. Explain the most significant relationships you have now and those of your past.
