Brent Staples'"Just Walk on by: Black Men in Public Space"
Brent Staple's states, "It was in the echo of that terrified woman's footfalls that I first began to know the unwieldy inheritance I'd come into - the ability to alter space in ugly ways" (394). What "unwieldy inheritance" is Staple's referring to? What examples does he use to illustrate his ability to alter public spaces?
