Would have a combination of both montessori-reggio emilia

1. Montessori or Reggio Emilia- a combination or neither? Preschools are very vital to a child's learning because it teaches them some important aspects when they are old enough to attend. Things such as how to behave, follow directions, and interact with peers to name a few. All the lessons learned would be with them all throughout life, and could possibly shape their future. I use the word possibly because some children are highly educated however, chose not to use their knowledge in a productive manner. There are also academic topics they will be taught without any child having negative feelings about themselves or the staff members. While children are at preschool they should feel welcomed and safe, without worrying about how others perceive them.

When I consider what approach would be beneficial to my preschool. Montessori would be a similar route for me because I would want my preschool to aid all children. Whether it is a child with limitations or one with a high IQ, being a facility for all is a motto that everyone could adapt to. The fact that she was a physician that dedicated herself to working with children that had disabilities was commendable and he taught about and showed structure.

This is something that is a must when trying to interact with children who have disabilities and those that do not. I would also incorporate the Emilia method due to it allowing children to use their hands and be creative. When you consider how both techniques go hand and hand. My approach would best fit both methods due to how each would run and better equip the children for when they head to a more advanced school. The confidence they would receive gives them the thought, anything is possible. Then they can carry Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me". This is a scripture they could take with them everywhere they go.

2. If it were my daycare, I would have a combination of both Montessori and Reggio Emilia. The reason for it is because I believe children should be learning at any age and they should be exercising that part of the brain even if they aren't in real school yet. I've worked in the school systems and a lot of what I see is division because some children go into kindergarten not as advanced as other children. At the same time, everyone is different and should be helped and guided along the way. I think our children learn so much at a young age and it is important for them to build their education on a foundation that'll only help them build great knowledge along their years of living.
