The aim of this assignment is to act as a systems analyst to perform the study, analysis and design of a system. You will have the opportunity to practice team work and cooperation with a team member of your choice.
• You are to choose a system (a company/organization) in which there may be a problem or opportunity for you to study and analyze and propose a solution.
• Write a report to include the following:
? Cover page
? Table of Contents
? Problem Definition (see lecture notes 2 for details)
? Work distribution within the group
? Gantt Chart for project management (use a software tool to create this)
? Information gathering techniques (what techniques you have used for the analysis of the system, details and reasons of choice; for example if you have conducted an interview, what interview structure did you use, what type of questions did you ask, why did you choose to use an interview and that particular structure. Also list the questions you have asked.)
? Dataflow Diagram (use a software program to draw this and state in your report which software you have used)
? A UML diagram of your system (use a software program to draw this and state in your report which software you have used).
? Design of pages and forms
a. Mention the programming/software environment to be used for the system and reasons of choice.
b. Show the design of pages with labels stating the GUI controls used
c. Mention the design considerations made for effective pages with effective human computer interaction.
