Why must managers complete an analysis of an organisations

ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE

ASSESSMENT ACTIVITY: CASE STUDY & POWERPOINT PRESENTATION

BRIEF

As a business management consultant, one of your specialities is to act as a ‘Change Agent' which is a person who plans and implements positive changes to any client organisation that needs your services.

As part of your wider business operations, you are constructing a ‘Rationale for Change' which will explain to any prospective client organisation what is involved in a change management process before they engage your services.

As all change programs follow a similar process (which is then customised to suit the individual organisation) you will be ‘formulating the rationale' (the explanation) for planning and implementing a generic change program which then can be adapted and customised for the individual client.

ASSESSMENT REQUIRMENTS

In your rationale, you will explain the entire process from inception to conclusion and produce a report of your own design that encompasses (in order as listed below):

- An overview of what strategic management is.
- What are Mission, Vision and Values and why are they important when considering the strategic direction of the firm or organisation?
- What is ‘Organisational Change'?
- Why is organisational analysis important in understanding and developing organisational change?
- Why must managers complete an analysis of an organisation's current state to determine requirements for organisational change?

- What are the four key elements we can use to analyse the internal environment of the business or organisation. Please provide a short explanation or examples for each of these.
- What is ‘trends analyses'?
- What are some of the tools, at least three (3) examples, that can assist with trends analysis and how are they completed? (Please be sure that one of your examples relates to Michael Porters Five Forces Theory)
