In our discussion focused on backward design as a planning tool and the essential elements in a lesson plan. Now let's look at the many instructional strategies that can be used to promote student learning.
Respond to any of the following questions in a minimum of 100 words:
1) What is an example of direct (teacher-centered) instruction, and what are the benefits of its use? What is an example of indirect (student-centered) instruction, and what are the benefits of its use?
2) Why might some teachers prefer more student-centered approaches? Explain and provide specific examples to support your response.
3) Research and identify at least 2 teaching and learning technology tools that are popular among educators. Describe the tool and its usage. Provide links as appropriate. Describe examples of how educators have integrated these applications as part of their teacher-centered or student-centered strategies.
