Question 1:

1. Many composers kept diaries during their lives. Choose a composer from the twentieth (or twenty-first) century and an important event from that composer's life. Consider how this event relates to the music the composer wrote. Write a diary entry related to that event in 1st person voice, as if the composer wrote it (Your choice should not be in the Jazz, blues, pop, rock, rap, or any popular music genres.  Not sure?  Search <   20th century composers   >.). Provide a link to a sound file or YouTube video of the composer's music, to help classmates become more familiar with this individual's work. In the subject line for your post, include the composer's name.  List any websites or other sources you used to write your post at the bottom of the post.

Option 01 this week has you analyze the biomechanics of a specific sports movement (sprinting, tennis backhand, golf drive, baseball pitch, etc.) or lift (squat, deadlift, bench press, clean and jerk, etc.) which directly relate to your capstone project. Please first obtain written consent to film a recreational or competitive athlete, and take several brief video clips from different angles using a video app such as Coachseye or upload videos taken from your smart phone to Youtube. Please provide extensive written anatomical and physiological analysis of your chosen sports skill (and possible verbal comments embedded within your video) as you break down specific sequences and related neuromuscular compensations using slow-motion and rewind videography. Please also give exercise prescription recommendations to improve functional performance and/or decrease risk of traumatic or overuse injury related to your video. Please attach your videofile in a format compatible with our APUS Learning Management System (LMS) to your post or include YouTube link in your text. Please cite some specific biomechanical analysis studies related to your chosen movement or exercise prescription within your capstone final manuscript both within text and reference list using APA style.

Question 4:

This week, we learned that infants can be categorized into one of 3 categories of temperament: easy, difficult, and slow-to-warm.  Since temperament is an innate characteristic, it generally remains unchanged over the lifespan.  Identify and discuss a potential advantage and a potential disadvantage of each of the three types of temperament.  (Your advantage/disadvantage can be around any point from infancy through adolescence.)

How do self-concept and self-esteem differ, and why are both important for effective communication?

  • Reflect on how your self-concept influences your interactions with others.
  • Share an example of a situation where your self-esteem impacted your communication.

2. Select a person in your life (co-worker, friend, family member, or someone you know well). Have a coaching session with them and then answer the following questions:

3. Pick a TV show/movie or previous example from your own life of a coaching session gone horribly wrong. Describe the situation and what you would do differently (as the coach).
