Each and every organization has a different culture. Every place that I have ever worked has had a different set of people with different personalities, and they all work differently with one another. A company I previously worked for was in search of their culture and looking to make changes. Their main problem was that none of the rules or regulations that were set out to help change that culture were upheld. Rosenfeld said that there were four type of culture in a business, communal, networked, mercenary, and fragmented, and that culture is" widely spread, deeply held, often understated and conscious assumptions beliefs, and internal values." (Rosenfeld 143).

Depending on what kind of culture that your company has will change the way that you manage your culture. As previously stated your culture is your company and every company is different. A thing to keep in mind is that if you are wanting to establish a culture it is important to remember that everyone is different and everyone will handle the change differently. Something that I think works is positive reinforcement. Giving them a reward for doing something well and benefiting the culture of the business.

2) Morgan Fergerson

After reading from the text book article Culture, People, and Innovation, I have learned about how Innovation of culture is important and the importance of culture in an organization.

Culture in an organization is important because it shows important boundaries for employees. Knowing how a company stands on culture will help you know where you stand as an employee. The text says, "All of the cultures allow me to do breakthrough, but how I structure that breakthrough is unique to the culture" (Rosenfeld, 2018). You have to know how a organization stands on culture in order to best help them reach their goals.

Rosenfeld analyzed culture by looking at what culture was composed of such as assumptions, beliefs, and values. He then broke the cultures down into the four different sections: networked communal, fragmented, and mercenary. He then looked at the four different sections in detail.

Some of the ways suggested to manage culture are to learn how to leverage the differences in people in the organization and to make that change that is really needed. Know what culture your organization is and use it to best manage your organization. Know what culture your employees are used to and know how to work with them in order to best benefit your organization.
