Why a good plan for achieving a equal income distribution

Problem

Suppose that the government passed a negative income tax, which involved a government $4000 subsidy to a family of four if zero income was earned. Assume a 50 percent marginal tax rate on earned income; that is, for every $1000 earned, the subsidy is reduced by 50 percent of the $1000. Using this NIT plan, fill in the columns labeled government subsidy and total income. Do you think this is a good plan for achieving a more equal income distribution? Why or why not?

The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
