Which text is the most important and why

Problem

These three texts/sources must be discussed. Herodotus' Histories, Sophocles' Antigone, and Euripides' Bacchae. For the study of Greek civilization based on the three texts above, which text is the most important, and why? Which is the second in importance, and why? Which text is third in importance, and why? Do not simply summarize the plots. You must discuss each text in terms of selected themes and analysis, as examined throughout our own course; these may be similar or different for each source, but you should show what is distinctive about each source, and why you rank it as you do. In the conclusion, discuss what the three sources as a group ultimately say about how the Greeks live, in Greek Civilization. You are asked to synthesize material in the texts and questions, in the arrangement you choose but also in a coherent way, based on your knowledge and understanding as developed throughout the course. You should contain specific short quotations from the text as evidence of the specific points you are making from your reading. At a minimum, you must include at least 3 short quotations from each of the 3 sources you are considering, 9 short quotations total. These quotations should be related directly to whatever position you are taking on the question under consideration. They should not be randomly selected, but should be selected as the best evidence. Use short quotations from the text and avoid long block quotes that take valuable space away from more argument and evidence.
